features a wide color gamut including 100% sRGB, 99.obe RGB, 99.I-P3, 80%
Rec.2020, allowing you to work in a variety of reference spaces. It also has a
true 10-bit color depth with 1.07 billion colors, supporting 10-bit content and
ensuring smooth gradations. Asus Proart Displays are pre-calibrated at the factory
to ensure industry-leading color accuracy, with a color accuracy of dE < 1.
Rigorously and carefully tested to ensure smoother color gradations, and each
level of the grayscale is carefully measured and adjusted to meet DICOM
medical-grade standards. If needed, the OSD menu also offers a wide range of
adjustments and controls. This model comes with a shielding hood that protects
the screen from light and gives you even more control over your working
environment.
It is also
worth noting that the display supports HDR10 and HLG formats for HDR content,
and Asus plans to add support for Dolby Vision through a user-updateable
firmware update around the third quarter of 2022. The screen has passed VESA's
"DisplayHDR 400 True Black" certification. Multiple HDR10 features
are supported, including PQ hard clip curve, PQ Optimized and PQ Basic, all to
meet the needs of content creators and ensure compatibility with video
streaming services in a growing list of games. HDR compatible. The PA32DC's HLG
support means it is also ready for professional use in the TV sector, allowing
users to view and create content for broadcast and satellite television such as
BBC iPlayer, Japan's NHK TV and DirecTV.
Some
people may be concerned about image retention and lighting when using an OLED
panel. Asus has included the usual reduction features, including the ASBL
setting called "screen saver" in this review, which thankfully can be
turned off; and the pixel converter you'll find in most OLED displays. In
addition to the usual panel features, Asus has included a proximity sensor to
turn off the screen when you're not using it. An ambient light sensor can also
help control the screen brightness better if you want to light up the closet.
